Program Overview
Introduction to the Advanced COLA Program
The Advanced COLA program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the current state of corporate research and its applications. The program aims to broaden the horizons of post-doctors (PD) and graduate students, recognizing the importance of basic science in society.
Program Objectives and Structure
Through lectures and workshops, students will deepen their understanding of corporate research, its characteristics, and appeal. The program also includes young and mid-career researchers as lecturers, providing students with a diverse range of perspectives.
Eligible Participants
- Doctoral course post-doctors (PD) affiliated with Hokkaido University
- Master's students (MC) can also take this course

- Common Graduate School Subjects: "Step-up career development for science and technology graduate students I, II" - Advanced COSA(1),(2)
- Graduate School of Life Science Specialized Subjects (Doctoral): "Step-up career development for science and technology graduate students I, II" - Advanced COSA(1),(2)
- Common Courses for Master's Program in Fisheries Sciences: "Step-up Career Development I, II"
Earning Credits
There are requirements for obtaining credits. To obtain credits, participants must register for the course(s) for which they require credits at their affiliated graduate school from among the three courses listed above.
Program Requirements
Participants are required to:
- Watch a pre-course guidance video
- Attend two lectures
- Submit a report Attendance will be taken both in person and online.
Program Administration
Information such as materials and webinar information will be sent only to those who have registered. Reports will be submitted by uploading them onto the designated system.
