Description and Teaching Objectives

This Degree deepens methodological, applicative, and construction aspects of Civil Engineering, conveying knowledge and disciplines that contribute to identifying and solving problems related to buildings and infrastructure systems for mankind. Subjects include: design, construction, and management of buildings, roads, hydraulic and transport systems, plants, and organisational systems. This course is divided into two curricula providing general training in Civil Engineering:


  • Structures and Geotechnics
  • Infrastructure and Transport Systems The Structures and Geotechnics curriculum aims at training professionals with specific skills who can manage maintenance, direct construction works, design, and possibly consolidate typical works in Structural Engineering (buildings made of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and masonry) and Geotechnical Engineering (earthen constructions, foundations, tunnels, excavations, and support works). The Infrastructure and Transport Systems curriculum aims at training professionals who are not only well-prepared in Civil Engineering but can also master specific skills in managing network systems in areas such as services, distribution, and transport in order to perform maintenance, direct construction works, and design works relating to Infrastructure Engineering, e.g., roads, railways, airports, bridges, tunnels, and underground works.
