Program Overview

Conservazione e Restauro dei Beni Culturali

The Conservazione e Restauro dei Beni Culturali (Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage) program is a five-year, single-cycle master's degree that enables students to become professional restorers of cultural heritage.

Program Description

The program provides students with theoretical preparation in both historical-humanistic and technological-scientific fields, combined with practical training. Each year, students participate in 450 hours of restoration laboratory work under the guidance of experienced teacher-restorers. The materials used in the courses belong to conservation institutions with which the university has established specific agreements.

Program Structure

Students are gradually introduced to the materials to be restored and learn the methods and technologies best suited to their conservation. Under the guidance of their teachers, they tackle problems of increasing difficulty until they reach the ability to design and implement a complex restoration work independently in their thesis.
