Introduction to the Master in Sound and Spectacle Engineering
The Master in Sound and Spectacle Engineering (MIS) is a program established at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Since 2003, it has been providing advanced training to individuals seeking to solve problems in the field of sound engineering and the entertainment industry from both a technical-scientific and artistic perspective.
Program Overview
The MIS program is designed for all undergraduate degree holders in any discipline, as well as diploma holders through the associated Training Course. To accommodate working students and those living outside the university's location, lectures are recorded and made available online for convenient access.

- Seminars and Workshops: A rich calendar of seminars and workshops, led by prominent professionals in the field and industry leaders, is offered in conjunction with the academic activities.
- Access to AES E-Library: Full access to the Audio Engineering Society (AES) E-Library, which contains over 16,000 publications in PDF format related to audio research progress from 1953 to the present.
- Teaching Methods: The Master's program is offered in both frontal (in-person) and online modalities, catering to all students, including those based outside the university and professionals already engaged in the sector.
- Practical Sessions: The program includes practical activities in mixing, mastering, and restoration studios to address sound engineering issues directly with industry professionals.
Admission and Enrollment
- The application period for the 2026 edition is open until February 6.
- Enrollment is not finalized until after the application for admission has been submitted and accepted.
- The program has surpassed 20 editions, making it the most participated and long-standing Master's program in the entire university, as well as the primary and most recognized program dedicated to professional audio in Italy.
