Introduction to the Sonic Arts Program
The Sonic Arts program is a first-level master's degree offered by the Department of History, Cultural Heritage, Education, and Society at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". The program duration is 1-3 years, with 60 credits required for completion.

Classes for PVC-PVO-PVN start on 23 February, while classes for PVI start on 29 April.
Institution and Purpose
The University of Rome "Tor Vergata" has established the Sonic Arts master's program, which offers two main areas of focus:
- Technologies for music production
- Sound design and music composition for film, videogames, and virtual reality The program aims to provide expertise in the realization and management of musical products in artistic contexts, with a focus on the technologies used in music composition and management.
Finality
The program's objective is to train professionals in the field of sound and music production, with a focus on artistic and technical aspects. The target professions include composer of electroacoustic music, composer of soundtracks, sound designer, and sound director, as well as experts in the use of technologies and techniques for entertainment and the management of digital archives and audio libraries.
Admission Requirements
The eligible degrees for admission to the program are:
- Bachelor's degree (three-year, specialist, or master's degree)
- Diplomas from Music Conservatories
- University diplomas
- Bachelor's degrees from foreign universities
- Equivalent degrees to a first-level university degree The eligible classes of degrees for admission are:
- Degree in Letters with a musical focus
- Degree in Engineering
- Degree in Science
- Diplomas from Music Conservatories Other classes of degrees may be considered if the candidate has relevant skills or experiences in the technical-musical or artistic-musical field. A selection interview may be required, according to the criteria established in the call for applications.
Enrollment
Enrollment is open to international students residing in Italy with a regular residence permit for work or study. The enrollment of foreign students residing abroad is regulated by current laws. The degree obtained abroad must be accompanied by a CIMEA certificate. The access title must be possessed at the time of enrollment, before the start of the training activities. It is possible to enroll as an auditor in the Master's program or individual courses, even without the required degree, if the candidate has solid professional experience in the areas covered by the program.
