Program Overview
The Master's program in "Trapianti di rene: dalla tradizione all'innovazione" - "Kidney transplantation: from tradition to innovation" is a second-level Master's degree offered by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in conjunction with the Bambino Ges¨ Pediatric Hospital in Rome. The program is taught in Italian and has a duration of 2 years, with 60 credits.
Program Objectives
The program is designed to provide updated knowledge and clinical evidence in kidney transplantation (adult and pediatric), with the aim of improving individual training and enhancing the clinical experience of doctors involved in the transplantation process, using a multidisciplinary approach. The course is taught by clinical transplant experts from various Italian and foreign transplant centers to improve candidates' exposure to different clinical experiences and practices.
Instruction Method
Instruction is provided through online lectures, case discussions, critical evaluation of scientific articles, and problem-solving exercises. The goal of the course is to share clinical scenarios and real-life experience from transplant expert physicians, promoting analysis, discussion, and reasoning of current practice, compared with the best available scientific evidence.
Admission Requirements
The Master's program is open to those who possess a degree in Medicine and Surgery. Enrollment of non-EU students residing in Italy with a regular residence permit for work or study is allowed. The enrollment of foreign non-EU students residing abroad is regulated by current laws. The foreign degree must be accompanied by a CIMEA certificate. The admission title must be possessed at the time of enrollment, before the start of the training activities. Auditors are also allowed to attend the Master's program.
