The Master's program in Econométrie, Statistiques is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in economics, econometrics, statistics, and Data Science. The program aims to equip students with the theoretical and practical tools necessary to analyze contemporary economic problems and make informed decisions in the fields of business and administration.
Objectives
The first year of the program focuses on establishing a strong base in economics, econometrics, statistics, and Data Science. The second year offers two specializations: Économétrie Data Science (EDS) and Recherche. Graduates of the Recherche specialization will acquire in-depth expertise in research and data analysis, while those in the EDS specialization will possess practical skills to solve economic and statistical problems in a professional context.
Target Audience
This Master's program is intended for students seeking to deepen their knowledge in econometrics and statistics for professional integration at the Bac+5 level or for further studies in a doctoral program. The target audience includes students who have obtained a degree in economics or a similar field, applied mathematics, MIASHS, or social sciences with a quantitative orientation and economics courses.
Admission Requirements
Admission is recommended for the M1 level and is also possible for the M2 level. All students must submit an application dossier, which will be reviewed by the pedagogical commission of the faculty of economics and management.
Structure and Organization
The M1 program consists of two semesters. The first semester focuses on developing methodological skills and fundamental economic knowledge. The second semester includes applied courses in various economic fields, advanced quantitative courses, and optional courses. The M1 program is offered on two sites, Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, with courses taught in English at the Marseille site and in French or English at the Aix-en-Provence site.

Formation and Research
This Master's program is part of the École Universitaire de Recherche (EUR) AMSE, which brings together nearly a hundred researchers from Aix-Marseille Université (AMU), the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Centrale Méditerranée (ECM), and Sciences Po Aix. The teaching team consists of teacher-researchers and researchers selected for their expertise, as well as professionals.
Knowledge and Skills to be Acquired
Given the rapid evolution of labor market needs, this degree will train professionals capable of adapting to these changes. This adaptability requires a comprehensive understanding of quantitative phenomena and in-depth technical knowledge in econometrics. Students will acquire fundamental knowledge in econometrics and quantitative methods during the first year and more specific knowledge in the chosen specialization during the second year.

Internships and Supervised Projects
A mandatory internship of 3 to 6 months is required for the M2 EDS specialization and is optional for the Recherche specialization.

Orientation Assistance
An information meeting is organized at the end of the first semester of the M1 to inform students about the possibilities of M2 and/or to advise them individually if necessary.
Studies Abroad
Students can spend the M1 year abroad through double degree programs with universities in Kent, Konstanz, Lisbon, Tübingen, and Venice. An Erasmus mobility is possible in the first semester of the M1 if planned the previous year or in the second semester of the M1 depending on available places.
