Program Overview

Introduction to the Diplôme d'accès aux études universitaires (DAEU)

The Diplôme d'accès aux études universitaires (DAEU) is a national diploma that grants the same rights as the baccalauréat, particularly in terms of access to higher education and administrative competitions of category B. It is homologated at level IV of the interministerial nomenclature of training levels.

Program Options

The DAEU exists in two options: Littéraire (DAEU A) and Scientifique (DAEU B). It is offered in several versions:

• DAEU Classique: 320 hours, from October to June, on the Aix-en-Provence campus and the Arles branch.
• DAEU en Alternance: 402 hours, from October to September, on the Marseille St-Charles campus.
• DAEU en intensif: 402 hours, from October to June, on the Marseille St-Charles campus.
• DAEU à distance (SONATE): 340 hours, in two sessions, from November to June and from April to December.

Target Audience

This training is aimed at non-baccalauréat holders who are job seekers, employees, or beneficiaries of the RSA. The goal is to allow trainees to:

• Acquire a level of general culture equivalent to that of the final year of high school.
• Access higher education.
• Pass category B competitions for which the baccalauréat is essential.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible, candidates must:

• Have interrupted their initial studies for at least two years.
• Be at least 20 years old by October 1st of the exam year.
• Have completed two years of professional activity that has given rise to Social Security contributions, by October 1st of the exam year. For persons aged 24 or older by October 1st of the exam year, no conditions are required.

• Contact Claudette BAVA or Florence KOLAROVIC for information. For DAEU Sonate, there is no selection test.

Selection tests are required for some programs:

• Marseille Saint-Charles: Inscription au test.
• Aix-en-Provence: Inscription au test.

Training Locations

The DAEU is offered in several locations:

• Aix-en-Provence: Day and evening classes.
• Marseille: Alternating training, day and evening classes.
• Arles: Evening classes.

Fees and Financing

The cost of the DAEU training varies:

• DAEU Classique at Aix and Arles: 4,965 euros.
• DAEU en Alternance: 6,236 euros.
• DAEU en intensif A or B: 6,236 euros. The training costs can be partially or fully financed by:
• CPF (Compte Personnel de Formation).
• Opérateurs de compétences OPCO.
• Employeur.
• Mission locale.
• Pass Sud Formation.

Social Support

Aix-Marseille University offers social support services, including an assistant social worker and a disability referent.

Diploma Award

Upon successful completion of the exams, the DAEU diploma is awarded. Graduates can then pursue higher education or compete in category B competitions.
