Master, Parcours : Computational and mathematical biology (CMB)
Program Overview
Master Program: Computational and Mathematical Biology (CMB)
The Master program in Computational and Mathematical Biology (CMB) is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in computer science and its applications in biology. The program is tailored for students with a background in science, mathematics, or engineering who wish to acquire complementary skills in computer science.
Program Overview
The CMB program is a 12-month master's program that aims to equip students with the necessary skills to pursue a career in the field of computational biology. The program covers a range of topics, including programming languages, databases, web development, and software engineering.
Curriculum
The program consists of two semesters, with a total of 60 credits. The first semester covers the following modules:
- Bases de données (6 credits)
- Programmation en langage C (6 credits)
- Systčme UNIX (3 credits)
- Java (6 credits)
- Langages du Web (6 credits)
- Anglais (3 credits)
The second semester offers three options:
- Développement sur plateformes mobiles tactiles (3 credits)
- Types de données et algorithmes (3 credits)
- Algorithmique graphique (3 credits)
Project and Internship
The program includes a project and an internship, which provide students with hands-on experience in the field. The project is a group work that aims to develop a software application, while the internship is a four-month placement in a company or research institution.
Admission Criteria
Admission to the program is open to students with a master's degree or a diploma in engineering (all scientific and technical fields of level Bac + 5) obtained in France. Students can also apply through the continuing education program.
Career Opportunities
The CMB program prepares students for a range of career opportunities, including:
- Ingénieurs ou chefs de projets dans la compétence initiale enrichie par une compétence en Informatique
- Analystes-programmeurs
Associated Laboratories
The program is associated with several laboratories at Aix-Marseille Université, including the LIS laboratory.
Network of CCI Masters in France
The CMB program is part of a network of CCI masters in France, which includes programs at Université Lyon 1, Université Grenoble Alpes, Université de Rennes 1, and Université de Tours.
Double Competence Masters
The program also offers a double competence master's degree in two years, in partnership with Université Grenoble Alpes.
Program Responsibilities
The program is managed by a team of responsible individuals, including Noël Novelli and Jean-Luc Mari.
