Master Cinéma et Audiovisuel - Parcours Métiers de la Composition Musicale et Sonore pour l'Image
Objectifs
The primary objective of this program is to facilitate the professional integration of students and enable them to progress and adapt throughout their careers. In addition to developing artistic qualities, the program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of theoretical foundations, technological knowledge, practical skills, and professional constraints. The program also focuses on helping students establish their own professional network and develop a professional attitude.
Conditions d'Admission
- The recruitment process for the master's program is based on a dossier, QCM, and interview.
- The required level for entry into M1 is a License, 180 ECTS, and 4 weeks of internship in the sector.
- The required level for entry into M2 is M1 Cinéma and Audiovisuel, 240 ECTS, and 8 weeks of internship in the sector.
- The required French level for international students is C1.
- Pre-registration is available until early April.
Prérequis Obligatoires
Candidates wishing to integrate into the master's program must have a professional project (supported by a first professional experience of at least one month in the audiovisual field) and strong motivation.
Prérequis Recommandés
- A good understanding of the professional audiovisual environment and cinematographic culture.
- Mastery of computer skills for image and sound.
- A driver's license.
Formation et Recherche
The professional thesis process takes place over the two years of the master's program. The goal is to analyze and reflect on professional practice through a combination of teaching, personal and professional practice, internships, and the professional project. Interviews with professionals are mandatory to inform the thesis topic. The program aims to train specialists in the field of sound for image who have in-depth knowledge of theory and analysis of their own practice to facilitate professional integration.

- Mettre en œuvre les connaissances en sciences et technologies (Organology, Studio environment, Electroacoustic music, MIDI programming, Audio effects and sound synthesis, Algorithmic approach to composition)
- Assimiler les techniques de composition non-linéaire (Interactive digital media and video games)
Stages et Projets Encadrés
During the two years of the master's program, students occupy different positions in the sound team during the realization of numerous projects in a professional configuration. In M1: 5 short fiction films of 3 minutes, shot in Super 16mm film; 5 documentaries of 12 minutes; 1 multicamera capture within the framework of the International Film Music Cinema Marseille Festival. In M2: 2 short fiction films of 15 minutes, shot in HD and mixed in multichannel; 1 cine-concert (short film and 15-minute musical composition); 1 documentary of 26 minutes shot in HD.
Modalités Pédagogiques Particulières
The training requires a face-to-face mode, as the learning is largely technical and concerns the manipulation of production tools (cameras, recorders, workstations, dedicated applications, control rooms...). The learning takes place in teams and is supported by a collective project organization and management.
