Program Overview
Master Arts Program
The Master Arts program is a 120-credit formation that offers several parcours, including Arts de la scène, Création numérique, Arts plastiques et sciences de l'art, and Médiation culturelle des arts.
Objectives
The Master Arts – Parcours Arts de la scène aims to train professional artists and artist-researchers capable of articulating artistic practice and theoretical reflection in the field of theater and performing arts. This training is based on a project-based pedagogy that places scenic creation at the heart of the learning process and promotes the development of an autonomous, reflective, and collaborative posture.
Public Visé
The program is designed for students holding a degree in Arts, Letters, and Human Sciences, as well as professionals in the theater and performing arts sector who wish to pursue further studies.
Admission Criteria
Admission is based on a review of the applicant's dossier and an interview, if the dossier is selected. Applicants must have a solid academic background, a coherent and motivated project, and a good command of written and spoken French.
Structure and Organization
The program is structured over two years (M1 and M2), organized into four semesters. The training combines theoretical, practical, and methodological teachings based on a project-based pedagogy.
Sites d'Enseignement
The program is taught at the ALLSH, Marseille St-Charles, bâtiment Turbulence Site St Charles.
Formation and Research
The Master's program is affiliated with the Laboratoire d'Études en Sciences des Arts (LESA – EA 3274). The common core of the two years of the Master's program allows students to attend research seminars organized by teacher-researchers and follow methodology of research courses.
Connaissances à Acquérir
The program covers various areas, including:
- Master 1 Semestre 1 and 2: Bloc de Compétences et de Connaissances (BCC) 1 Compétences Générales et Transversales, BCC 2: Dramaturgie, BCC 3: Mise en scène, BCC 4: Professionnalisation.
- Master 2 Semestre 1: BCC 1 Compétences transversales et générales, BCC 2: Publics et espaces, BCC 3: Direction d'acteurs, BCC 4: Accompagnement à la production.
- Semestre 2: BCC 1: Réalisation du projet scénique personnel, BCC 2: Professionnalisation du projet et de l'étudiant, BCC 3: Finalisation: projet, mémoire, and soutenance.
Stages and Projects
The program includes stages in M1 (4 weeks) and M2 (150 to 300 hours), as well as artistic supervision and project follow-up.
Enseignements Délocalisés
Some teachings take place in partner cultural institutions: the 3 bisf center d'arts contemporains in Aix-en-Provence, the Criée, and the Nouveau Théâtre Toursky in Marseille.

The program has a strong professional integration rate.
Débouchés Professionnels
Graduates can pursue careers in direction, scenography, dramaturgy, writing, performance, criticism, teaching, research, and various professions in the cultural sector.
Poursuites d'Etudes
Graduates can pursue further studies, such as a doctorate or specialized training in the cultural sector.
Partenariats
The program has educational partnerships with institutions such as the Ecole Régionale d'Acteurs de Cannes – Marseille and the FAI-AR Formation Supérieure d'Arts en Espace Public.
Fees
The tuition fees for the program are 250 euros for initial training, with additional registration fees. Differentiated fees apply to non-EU students.
