Capacité d'Orthophonie (3ème année) Program

Program Objectives

The program aims to provide students with:


  • Methodological bases for descriptive statistics
  • Knowledge of computer tools to aid in the realization of descriptive statistics and access to internet information

Program Organization

The program consists of 16 hours of teaching, divided into:


  • 8 hours of theoretical teaching
  • 8 hours of practical teaching

  • Descriptive statistics (5 hours)
    • Introduction to descriptive statistics
    • Types of data: qualitative, quantitative
    • Characterization of qualitative and ordinal data: frequencies, pie charts, and bar charts
    • Characterization of quantitative data: position and dispersion parameters
  • Computer science (3 hours)
    • Internet: principles, access, and search engines
    • Spreadsheets: cells, formulas, and graphics
  • Practical work (8 hours)
    • Internet: searching for information in orthophony and orthoptics
    • Spreadsheet (EXCEL): realization of descriptive statistics from examples
    • Self-test (question bank) in descriptive statistics
