Program Overview
University Program: UE TERRE Risques gťologiques
Overview
The UE TERRE Risques gťologiques is a 3-credit university program that focuses on geological risks.
Program Description
The program covers various geological risks, including seismic, volcanic, and terrain movement risks (such as landslides and snow avalanches), as well as flood risks (both riverine and marine, including those related to storms and tsunamis) and hazardous atmospheric phenomena (such as storms, tornadoes, and hurricanes). The program reviews the phenomenon itself (the hazard), its impact on society, and the measures taken by society to address the risk.
Competencies to be Acquired
The objective of this program is to provide students with sufficient knowledge of risks to interact with decision-makers (including public organizations) and to inform the population. It also serves as an introduction to the discipline, opening up opportunities for specialized master's programs in fields such as water sciences and natural and technological risk management.
