Program Overview
Introduction to the Steadicam Training Program
The Steadicam training program is a comprehensive course designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate a Steadicam effectively. The program is tailored to meet the needs of professionals in the film and television industry, including camera operators, cinematographers, and other technicians.

Duration
The program lasts for 35 hours, spread over 5 days.
Class Size
The class size is limited to 6 participants to ensure personalized attention and hands-on training.
Dates
The program will take place from March 16 to 20, 2026.
Schedule
The daily schedule is as follows:
- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location
The program will be held at La Satis, Aubagne, Aix-Marseille Université.
Registration Deadline
The deadline for registration is February 23, 2026. However, participants are advised to allow at least 30 days for financing arrangements to be made through an OPCO like AFDAS.
Cost
The cost of the program is 2,800 per person, excluding taxes. The establishment is not subject to VAT.
Certification
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive an attestation of competence and a certificate of completion.
Prerequisites and Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the program, participants must have significant experience in professional camera operation. They must also be in good physical condition, particularly with regards to their back and joints.

- Adjust the harness and arm to suit their morphology
- Maintain balance and posture while operating the Steadicam

- Introduction to Steadicam operation

Detailed Program
The program will include:
- Apprenticeship of key movements: frontal tracking, lateral tracking, circular movements, high-mode, and low-mode
- Classical postures: "missionary" and "Don Juan"
- Setting up classic plans with one or several actors
- Communication with the assistant operator and focus puller
- Vision and analysis of plans shot with a Steadicam
- Distribution of a 20-page course support
- Presentation of the complete Steadicam system
- Assembly and balancing of the Steadicam
- Vision and analysis of extracts showcasing Steadicam usage
