Intensive Chinese Language Program

The Intensive Chinese Language Program is designed for individuals who wish to learn Chinese at a faster pace. The program focuses on improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through innovative teaching methodologies, including games, activities, and multimedia.

Program Details

• Campus: Putuo Campus
• Program Duration: March 2nd, 2026 - June 26th, 2026 (with the first week being orientation week and classes starting from March 9th, 2026)
• Duration: One semester or more
• Class Schedule: 29 class hours per week, with classes from Monday to Friday
  • Morning: 8:30-11:45
  • Afternoon: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 13:15-15:45
• Fees:
  • Application Fee: 800 RMB
  • Tuition Fee: 14,000 RMB/semester
• Textbook: Developing Chinese, New Target Chinese Spoken Language, etc. (cost of teaching materials is at the student's own expense)

Course Introduction

The program offers intensive courses at a faster pace, intended for those who want to learn the most in the shortest time. It focuses on the improvement of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, integrated with innovative teaching methodology. The program features small group instruction with less than 25 students in one class, diverse courses meeting different needs, systematic and strict management, and frequent lectures, cultural activities, and competitions.

Diverse Activities

The program includes field trips to historical sights and various activities like celebrations of traditional Chinese festivals, debating competitions, Chinese drama contests, sports meetings, etc., to build a genuine Chinese cultural environment.

2. Application deadline: December 31, 2025 (with a reminder about online payment system maintenance and an extension for application submission)
3. Age requirement: 18-55 years old
4. Application materials and fees are not refundable once submitted

Refund Rules

• Full refund for those who give up enrollment and complete withdrawal procedures before the semester start date
• 70% refund for those who complete withdrawal procedures within the first two weeks after the semester start date
• No refund after the first two weeks since the semester start date

Visa and Accommodation

• ECNU will provide visa application documents for students of Chinese Language Programs (semester duration)
• Reservation for new students' accommodation is expected to be open in early January 2026, with eligibility based on completed payment of tuition and fees, on a first-come, first-served basis.
