Unmanned Aircraft Systems - Technical Certificate

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Technical Certificate is offered by the S.J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Agriculture & Natural Resources at Utah State University. This certificate program provides students with industry skills, foundational knowledge, and hands-on experience with drones.

What You Will Learn

This hands-on, project-based certificate incorporates principles of flight, aviation weather, and industry-driven techniques and expectations for communication, professionalism, documentation, and more. Students will work through flight lab courses to gain experience and logged flight time for industry preparation with a variety of drones, emphasizing fixed-wing flight. The program includes building labs, academic-based courses, a Part 107 course, flight labs, service hour requirements, and an individual project working with a local business or organization.

• Minimum 2.5 GPA to begin and complete the certificate program

• Entry to the program is possible only during the Fall semester

Program Details

• Completion of the certificate earns 30 credits applicable to a degree
• Certificate is completed between a single Fall and Spring semester
• Tuition and fees include up to four drones, including student-designed drones
• Certificate is only available at USU Eastern in Price, UT
• Part 107 passing score required for second semester enrollment and certificate completion
