Program Overview


Introduction to Science Unwrapped

Science Unwrapped is the Utah State University College of Arts & Sciences' public outreach program. The program hosts free monthly gatherings featuring a brief science lecture, followed by hands-on learning activities and free refreshments. The events are open to inquiring minds of all ages, encouraging exploration of STEM learning.

Location and Parking

Science Unwrapped is held in the Emert Auditorium (Room ESLC 130) of the Eccles Science Learning Center on the USU campus in Logan. The Eccles Science Learning Center is located north of Old Main and south of the Taggart Student Center. Directions and parking information are available to plan your visit.

Accommodations for Young Children

If a young child becomes restless during the talk, attendees are welcome to exit the auditorium and enjoy the coloring table in the lobby. Hands-on learning activities are also available in the atrium following the talk.


Recordings of Science Unwrapped Talks

Yes, Science Unwrapped presentations are videotaped and posted to the website within about a week of the live event. Recordings can be viewed on the Science Unwrapped Presentations page.


Hands-on Learning Activities

Science Unwrapped benefits from volunteers from many different organizations, including USU students and community organizations. These volunteers provide great learning activities following each talk.


Accessibility

Yes, Science Unwrapped is accessible. For information regarding ASL interpreting, accessible parking, and wheelchair access, please note that arrangements can be made. Science Ambassadors are available to assist with seating, and video recordings of each presentation are available online with closed captioning about a week following each live presentation.

Proof of Attendance for Students

Following each presentation, printed proof of attendance slips are available for students to pick up in the lobby. Some teachers also have their students take a selfie photo at the event as an alternative method of verification.
