Program Overview

The Master of Education in P‰dagogik is a four-semester program that aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become teachers in the subject of P‰dagogik. The program is designed to build on the students' existing knowledge and skills, and to provide them with a deeper understanding of the subject matter and its application in a school setting.

Program Structure

• The program consists of four semesters of full-time study.
• The program is taught in German, with some courses offered in English.
• International students are required to demonstrate their proficiency in German.

Admission Requirements

• A completed Bachelor's degree in Erziehungswissenschaft or a related field.
• Successful completion of the Profil Lehramt des Optionalbereichs der RUB or equivalent courses from other universities.
• Students who have completed a Bachelor's degree in a related field may be eligible for admission after completing an equivalency test.

Fachwissenschaftliche Ausbildung

• The program offers a range of courses that provide students with a deeper understanding of the subject matter, including disziplin‰re and curriculare Kernthemen.
• Students can choose from a range of courses that focus on different aspects of P‰dagogik, such as Erziehung and Bildung, Entwicklung and Lernen, and Sozialisation.

Fachdidaktische Ausbildung

• The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the didactics of P‰dagogik, including the theoretical foundations and practical applications.
• Students learn about the different approaches to teaching P‰dagogik, including the use of digital media and the development of individualized learning plans.

Practical Experience

• The program includes a practical semester, which provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.
• Students are supported by a university-based study project and a planning seminar, which help them to develop their teaching skills and to prepare for their future careers.

Career Prospects

• The program prepares students for a career as a teacher of P‰dagogik in Gymnasien and Gesamtschulen in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
• Graduates may also pursue careers in other fields, such as education administration, social services, or research.
• The program also provides a foundation for further study, including a Ph.D. in P‰dagogik or a related field.
