The Master's program in Management & Consulting im Sport is designed for individuals who wish to critically engage with management questions in the sports sector, develop solution approaches, and communicate them effectively.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Master's program in Management & Consulting im Sport, applicants must have:


  • A degree from a six-semester Bachelor's program with a minimum of 180 CP in the fields of sports science, economics, or comparable study programs.
  • For international students, proof of German language proficiency according to the TestDaF-Niveaustufe 4 (TDN 4) or the DSH-Stufe 3 is required.

Program Structure

The program consists of 11 modules:


  1. Consulting im Sport: Essential concepts and instruments of consulting, enabling students to develop consulting concepts on a scientific basis.
  2. Methoden empirischer Sozialforschung: In-depth knowledge of the method spectrum, enabling students to develop research questions, create study designs, and evaluate data independently.
  3. 珶onomische Perspektiven des Sports: Enables students to apply socio-economic and political science approaches to sports phenomena and the management of sports development.
  4. Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Studien I: Provides a basic understanding of strategic management, markets, and companies, as well as the fundamentals of business law.
  5. Organisation und Personal: Covers basic aspects and in-depth topics of organizational and personnel psychology in the context of sports.
  6. Marketingmanagement im Sport: Deepens knowledge of sports-related market and communication research to develop skills for creating viable marketing and communication concepts.
  7. Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Studien II: Enables students to calculate costs and revenues of a company and its individual departments, apply basic procedures of investment calculation, and interpret commercial balance sheets.
  8. Gesundheits- und Regenerationsmanagement: Teaches important aspects of health psychology and provides basics and research methods for application in sports.
  9. Professional Skills: Includes the acquisition of research competencies as preparation for consulting practice and the scientific project (Module 10).
  10. Wissenschaftliches Projekt: Involves the development, planning, and independent implementation of a practically applicable scientific question, including methodological evaluation and presentation of the project.
  11. Masterarbeit: Involves the independent processing of a scientific question in the form of a final thesis, including the application of in-depth, subject-specific knowledge and the implementation of methodological skills.
