Introduction

This unit introduces students to methods of close reading, formal analysis, and creative writing. It develops strategies to analyze literary and screen texts in detail, breaking them down into component parts and explaining how they generate complex meanings. The unit engages students' imaginative and creative skills in response to different narrative forms and genres. Upon successful completion, students gain a foundational vocabulary and develop core skills for further studies in English and Writing.
