Diploma of Arts (A1A)

The Diploma of Arts provides students with opportunities to interpret human culture and behaviour from different perspectives and periods. The course is designed to allow students to choose their path, with the option to complete the diploma as a standalone qualification or use it as the first year of a Bachelor of Arts study.

For Domestic students:

We encourage you to apply for the courses you most want to study. If you're not eligible to enter your chosen course right now, the admissions team will work with you to find the best pathway option.
Applicants who have recently completed secondary education (in the past two years)
- This course does not use ATAR as part of the selection process.
- Applicants who have recently completed senior secondary studies may be eligible for admission.
Domestic applicants with higher education study
- To be eligible for an offer, you must have:
  - Completed a course at Diploma level or higher at any Australian higher education provider (or an equivalent overseas qualification); or
  - Completed at least one units of study (equivalent to 12.5 UTAS credit points) of a course at Diploma level (or an equivalent overseas qualification).
Domestic applicants with VET / TAFE study
- To be eligible for an offer, you must have:
  - completed a Certificate III (or equivalent qualification) in a related field; or
  - completed a Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or an equivalent qualification) in any field.
Domestic applicants with work and life experience
- If you have not successfully completed senior secondary, tertiary or TAFE/VET study, but have relevant work and life experience you can complete a personal competency statement.

Fees & Scholarships

Domestic students

Commonwealth supported places (CSP) are available for this course.
For eligible domestic students, this means your fees will be subsidised by the Australian Government.
You'll only need to pay the student contribution amount for each unit you study within the course.
