Overview

The Graduate Diploma of Clinical Pharmacy is a postgraduate course designed to upskill and advance the careers of pharmacists in a fast-changing industry. With community pharmacy in Australia undergoing a transition, more pharmacists are moving into clinical environments, requiring robust clinical knowledge and an understanding of pharmacotherapeutics at an advanced level.

Career Outcomes

Pharmacy practice is changing, and pharmacists are becoming more involved in day-to-day management of complex diseases. This course will broaden pharmacy career opportunities and can act as a pathway to the Master of Clinical Pharmacy. Graduates may work as clinical consultants, manage drug therapy regimens, provide leadership in clinical trials and research, or offer professional clinical services within community pharmacy settings.

Course Structure

Students must successfully complete 100 credit points (8 units), comprising:

• 2 core units (25 credit points)
• 6 core option units (75 credit points)

Entry Requirements

For Domestic Students

• An AQF 7 or above Bachelor-level degree in Pharmacy from an Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) accredited undergraduate program.
• Evidence of current AHPRA registration under the General Registration Type for the profession of Pharmacist, without conditions or notations.

For International Students

• An AQF 7 or above Bachelor-level degree in Pharmacy from an Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) accredited undergraduate program or equivalent.
• Evidence of current AHPRA registration under the General Registration Type for the profession of Pharmacist, without conditions or notations, or equivalent evidence of registration in another country.
• International applicants must meet the English Language test requirement of IELTS 7.0 with no individual band less than 7.0.

Fees & Scholarships

Domestic Students

• Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available for this course.
• The indicative annual fee for a CSP is $9,312.
• HECS-HELP loans are available for eligible students.

International Students

• The total tuition fee for international students is $35,450 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).

Duration and Location

• Minimum 1 year, up to a maximum of 3 years.
• The course is available to study as both part-time or full-time.
• Location: Online.

Articulation

• Students can articulate from the M5C Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy into this course with 50 credit points advanced standing.
• Students can articulate to the M7F Master of Clinical Pharmacy from this course with 100 credit points advanced standing.
• The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy is an exit award for units successfully passed that meet the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy.
