Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is located on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The campus is a major integrated academic health sciences center that includes schools of pharmacy, medicine, nursing, physical therapy, and dental medicine.


Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency

The Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency is an ASHP-accredited program that was re-established in 2012. The program has a strong emphasis on the care of patients with a variety of infectious diseases, as well as academic pharmacy practice, including teaching and research.


Program Overview

The program is operated on the state-of-the-art University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The longitudinal practice site is the University of Colorado Hospital, with learning experiences including both inpatient areas and outpatient infectious diseases clinics. Additional sites for this program are at affiliated hospitals within the Denver metro area.


Current Resident

The current resident is Rebecca O'Toole, PharmD, who completed her undergraduate and pharmacy studies at the University of Rhode Island. She completed her PGY1 at the University of Colorado Hospital and is excited to start her PGY2 in ID and precept students throughout her career.

The Residency Program Director is Karrine Brade, PharmD, BCIDP, Clinical Coordinator, Infectious Diseases, at the University of Colorado Hospital.
