Program Overview

Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Solid Organ Transplant Pharmacy Residency

Program Overview

The University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) is a 678-bed tertiary academic medical center on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The Transplant Center at UCHealth has been a leader in solid organ transplant since performing the first liver transplant in 1963. The care team provides multi-disciplinary care for kidney, pancreas, liver, lung, and heart transplant recipients. Additionally, the Transplant Center participates in several prospective, clinical trials on an annual basis.

PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification, if available.

Application

Interested applicants should submit a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and three letters of recommendation through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS).

Residency Program Update

The program has officially early committed and will not be entering the national match.
