Dr. Tobias Eckle Program
Dr. Tobias Eckle is a professor in the Department of Anesthesiology.
Education
Dr. Eckle received his MD and PhD from Eberhard-Karls University in T暅ingen, Germany. He completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at the University Hospital of T暅ingen.
Training Programs
Dr. Eckle's research focuses on cell biology, stem cells, and development.
Research Interests
Dr. Eckle's research interests include the role of the circadian and light-elicited protein Period 2 (PER2) in anesthesia and critical care relevant comorbidities.
Research Description
Dr. Eckle's research has been directed towards identifying cellular adaptive mechanisms during hypoxic conditions such as myocardial ischemia. His research has implications for the development of new treatments for hypoxic conditions.
