Program Overview
Introduction to the Pediatric Sports Medicine Fellowship Program
The Pediatric Sports Medicine fellowship program is designed to provide fellows with a comprehensive education and training experience in the care of pediatric and adolescent athletes. The program is based at Children's Hospital Colorado, which is a major pediatric referral center for the Rocky Mountain region and has a strong reputation for excellence in pediatric sports medicine.
Eligibility
Physicians who have successfully completed an ACGME accredited residency in Pediatrics or Medicine/Pediatrics are eligible for the program.
Curriculum
The curriculum for the Pediatric Sports Medicine fellowship program includes both didactic and clinical training. Fellows participate in regular lectures, conferences, and workshops on topics such as:
- Sports-related injuries
- Medical conditions affecting athletes
- Exercise physiology
Clinical training takes place in a variety of settings, including:
- The pediatric sports medicine clinic
- The emergency department
- The operating room
Clinical Training
Fellows work closely with experienced faculty members to evaluate and manage pediatric and adolescent athletes with a wide range of sports-related injuries and medical conditions. They also participate in the care of athletes at local high schools and universities, and have the opportunity to work with athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Research
Fellows are expected to participate in research projects and present their findings at national conferences. They work closely with faculty members to:

- Collect and analyze data

Application
