Overview
The Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program is a comprehensive training program that combines the disciplines of internal medicine and pediatrics. The program is designed to provide residents with a broad range of clinical experiences, academic opportunities, and research training.
Education

Med-Peds Academic Half Days

Procedural Curriculum
The program offers a procedural curriculum, which provides residents with the opportunity to obtain procedural competence in a range of areas, including:
- Hospital Medicine: Residents can participate in procedure sim trainings, rotate on ward rotations, and take a procedure elective.
- Primary Care: Residents can receive training on Nexplanon and IUD insertion, complete a sports medicine or rheumatology elective, or complete a dermatology elective.
Med-Peds Noon Conference
The program hosts a Med-Peds Noon Conference, which provides an opportunity for residents to learn from local Med-Peds faculty members. The conference covers a range of topics, including inpatient management of various conditions.
Pediatric Academic Half Days and Humanism and Resiliency Curriculum
The program offers pediatric-specific didactic half-days, which cover a range of clinical topics and include simulation training. The Humanism and Resiliency Curriculum provides an opportunity for residents to focus on traditionally underemphasized topics, including ethical dilemmas, dealing with death and bad outcomes, and resiliency tips and tricks.
Medicine WES and Pathways
The program offers weekly medicine-specific education sessions, which cover a range of topics, including resident wellness and resiliency, implicit bias training, diagnostic reasoning, and critical appraisal of the medical literature. Residents can also participate in pathways, including the Global Health, Health Equity, Advocacy & Policy, Medical Education, Medical Leaders, or Research & Investigation Pathways.
Noon Conference, Morning Report, M &M, and Grand rounds
The program offers a range of conference-style didactics, including noon conference, morning report, M&M, and grand rounds. These sessions provide an opportunity for residents to learn from senior faculty members and chief residents.
