Introduction to the MPT Kiddo Program

The MPT Kiddo program, also known as the Munster Programming Training, has been successfully running for 19 years and has gained immense popularity. This in-person introductory programming course is designed for children aged 11-12, specifically fifth and sixth-class primary school pupils.

Program Overview

The program is ideal for children who have an interest in technology, puzzles, and solving logical problems. It aims to build confidence, creativity, and curiosity in technology, while encouraging students to think logically and work independently and collaboratively.

Program Details

• The program starts at a fundamental level, requiring no prior knowledge of computer programming.
• The course modules include:
  • Scratch: An introduction to programming using a visual, block-based approach.
  • CodeMonkey: A guided introduction to coding through interactive, game-based activities.
  • Programming for Robots: An opportunity to explore programming concepts through hands-on activities with robots.

Programme Schedule and Fee

• Time: Saturday mornings from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, beginning on January 10, 2026.
• Venue: UCC's Western Gateway Building, Western Road.
• Fee: 250 per student for 15 weeks.
