Certificate in Arts (History)
The Certificate in Arts (History) is a part-time, evening program that runs over one academic year.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by 1 January of the year of application.
- This one-year course focuses on aspects of early and modern European history in general, and on Ireland in particular
- A UCC Certificate in Arts will be awarded to all students who pass this course
- Students who pass the course will be exempt from 1st Year History if they subsequently take a UCC Arts degree
- Teaching is on UCC's main campus, from September to December & from January to March
- Classes take place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings as 2 x 1½ hour lectures given by UCC School of History staff, plus tutorial support
- No prior qualification or experience of studying history necessary
