Program Overview

Latin American and Latino Studies Program

The Latin American and Latino Studies Program offers a unique opportunity for students to study and experience the historical, political, economic, and cultural diversity of South America.


Study Abroad

The WFU/Chile: Across South America program is a multi-city LALS program that allows students to study in various cities across the continent. Students travel as a group, accompanied by a WFU professor who teaches in their area of expertise.


Program Details

  • The program includes a month of travel to three additional countries, including:
    • Peru (Lima, Machu Picchu, Cuzco)
    • Ecuador (Quito)
    • Argentina (Buenos Aires)
    • Uruguay (Colonia or Montevideo)
  • Additional coursework is taken at a partner university in Santiago.
  • No particular major or minor is required for eligibility.
  • The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the region's diversity.
