Program Overview

Wake Forest University Choirs

About the Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is a mixed choir that specializes in accompanied choral repertoire and a cappella works appropriate for a large chorus. The choir regularly collaborates with the Wake Forest Choral Society, the Wake Forest University Symphony Orchestra, instrumental faculty chamber ensembles, and musicians from the Winston-Salem Symphony.

Concert Choir Performances

The Concert Choir performs in various concerts throughout the year, including:

  • Fall and spring concerts
  • Annual holiday concert and Lovefeast
  • End-of-year Masterworks Concert with the combined Wake Forest University choirs

Rehearsal Schedule

The Concert Choir meets two times per week, on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 4:45 PM. This schedule makes it an ideal choice for students who are unable to commit to the rigorous Chamber Choir rehearsal and performing schedule.

Benefits of Joining the Concert Choir

Joining the Concert Choir offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Development of esprit de corps and camaraderie that reinforces sensitive choral artistry
  • Opportunities to make friends, meet new people, and engage in community outreach
  • A chance to learn more about oneself and about music

Course Information

The Concert Choir is listed as MSC 145 A/B.
