Wake Forest University Journalism Program

The Wake Forest University Journalism Program is a member of the Pulitzer Center's Campus Consortium, which brings foreign correspondents to campus and provides annual funding for fellowships to students for international reporting projects. The program also provides support for the fellowship.

Faculty and Research

The program has a notable faculty, including Professor Justin Catanoso, who has overseen the Pulitzer fellows application process at Wake Forest since it started in 2012. Professor Catanoso has reported on various topics, including sea otters in the Gulf of Alaska for Mongabay.

Student Achievements

Rafael Lima, a sophomore majoring in communications and minoring in journalism and political science, has been selected as Wake Forest's ninth fellow in international reporting by the Pulitzer Center in Washington, D.C. His award is for $3,000, and he will report on the impact of Brazil's controversial new president, Jair Bolsonaro, on the indigenous tribes in the Brazilian Amazon.
