Program Overview
Introduction to the Percorso Intraprendenti Program
The Percorso Intraprendenti program was launched by Politecnico di Torino in the academic year 2014/15 as the Young Talent Project, with the objective of enhancing the potential of deserving students. Over the years, it has evolved into a testing ground for innovative teaching practices, aligning with the goals of the Strategic Plan "PoliTO 4 Impact". In the academic year 2020/21, the project transformed into Progetto INTRAPRENDENTI Percorso per Ingegneri, Architetti, Pianificatori, Designer Innovativi, a highly innovative three-year educational path that runs parallel to the standard course of study.
Program Overview
The INTRAPRENDENTI project targets 200 students from the Engineering Area and 40 students from the Architecture Area, selected according to specific merit-based requirements. These students are grouped into multidisciplinary teams that work on interdisciplinary and interactive activities, focusing on problem-solving and the development of soft skills required to effectively interact in heterogeneous groups and complex organizational environments. The culture of sustainability and social impact are integral parts of the educational path.
Educational Advantages
The main educational advantages of the project include:
- A specific study plan that fully develops a new educational model starting from the Bachelor's level.
- A broader training experience that enhances experimental education using an interactive and collaborative problem-solving approach, gathering students from different degree programs supervised by specialized tutors.
- The development of soft skills useful for increasing a project-based, strategic thinking approach with an interrelated and systemic perspective.
- The issuance of a final certificate of participation to students who graduate within 3 years, with the option to request an Open Badge, a digital certificate recognizing the skills learned during the university path.
- Participation in the project is included in the Diploma Supplement.
Program Structure and Duration
The project spans over a three-year period, during which students are tested to assess their merit and confirm participation in the project. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive and innovative educational experience, preparing students for complex challenges in their future careers.
Eligibility and Selection
Selected students are chosen based on specific merit-based requirements. The program excludes the Bachelor's degree program in Industrial Production Engineering and the Professional Bachelor's degree program in Industrial Manufacturing Technologies due to their specific curricula.
Conclusion
The Percorso Intraprendenti program offers a unique and innovative educational path for students at Politecnico di Torino, focusing on interdisciplinary learning, problem-solving, and the development of soft skills. It provides a comprehensive and interactive approach to education, preparing students for the complexities of their future careers and emphasizing sustainability and social impact.
