Master Universitario di II livello Gestione e valorizzazione dei giardini storici

The Master's program in Gestione e valorizzazione dei giardini storici (Management and Enhancement of Historic Gardens) covers various thematic areas, including management, ecological protection, social enjoyment, and cultural promotion of the heritage of historic parks and gardens.


Objectives

The main objectives of the Master's program respond to the need to enhance the heritage of historic gardens and parks in the territory, offering management tools that meet ecological criteria and respond to social needs for collective enjoyment.


Course Structure

The training course is based on a dual track: cultural growth and field experience, which will take place in the gardens of the Residenze Reali Sabaude in Venaria Reale, Stupinigi, Palazzo Reale, and Villa della Regina in Turin.


Topics Covered

Through cycles of lessons, students will be able to delve into:


  • The historical development of gardens
  • Protection norms
  • The restoration and enhancement of historic gardens
  • Systems for planning green areas
  • The principles of landscape architecture
  • The basics of agronomic and botanical sciences

Schedule

Lessons will be held at the Politecnico di Torino's Castello del Valentino (or Lingotto) headquarters on Fridays (full day, approximately 9:00-13:00 / 14:00-18:00) and Saturday mornings. Workshops are planned at the Reggia di Venaria Reale and other Residenze Sabaude.
