Program Overview


Master of Design (Interior Architecture)

The Master of Design (Interior Architecture) qualifies individuals who apply an advanced body of knowledge and specialist theoretical framework in professional design, communication, project management, and research skills in response to the increasing demands and complexities of interior design practice in multi-disciplinary project teams in professional practice or scholarship, and as a pathway for further learning.


Aim

The aim of the Master of Design (Interior Architecture) is to provide students with an advanced body of knowledge and specialist theoretical framework in professional design, communication, project management, and research skills.


Content & Structure

Graduates of the Master of Design (Interior Architecture) will have a body of knowledge of the principles and practices of designing and maintaining socially and environmentally responsive interior environments that sustain human existence. Graduates will also have knowledge of research methods and principles for critical evaluation and application to the interior design practice and the multi-disciplinary field of design.

Rules & Notes

  1. Students who have completed a Bachelor (Honours) in a related discipline are eligible to enter the program with 1.0 EFTSL Advanced Standing.
  2. Students who have completed the four-year Bachelor of Interior Architecture from the University of South Australia are eligible to enter the program with 0.5 EFTSL Advanced Standing.
  3. Students who have completed a Master of Architecture or equivalent are eligible to enter the program with 1.0 EFTSL Advanced Standing.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of a Bachelor degree or Graduate Diploma from a recognized higher education institution, or equivalent, in a related discipline. Applicants must also submit a portfolio of work, curriculum vitae, and a written statement of intent.
