Course Information

The course introduces the principal elements of cyber security from an organisational and technical perspective.

Course Content

Students will gain skills and knowledge in:

• core security principles including confidentiality, integrity and availability (CIA)
• roles and responsibilities of a cyber security professional
• principles of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography
• attack models, threat lifecycles, social engineering, malware, denial of service, insider attacks
• Australian Computer Society (ACS) code of conduct

• INFT 1016: Information Technology Fundamentals
• INFT 1024: UO Information Technology Fundamentals In addition to one course from Group 1, students must also complete one of the following courses:
