Course Information
The Inclusive Education course is an undergraduate course offered by UniSA Education Futures. The course aims to extend preservice teachers' knowledge of inclusive practices to address the diversity of learner needs within a range of educational settings.
Course Content
Preservice teachers will develop critical knowledge and practice in inclusive education and cater to special educational needs of learners with disability, learning difficulties, language and communication disorders, social and emotional disorders, giftedness, marginalisation associated with gender, culture, race and linguistic diversity from birth to adulthood. The course will investigate inclusion strategies, exceptionality, equity, social justice, human rights, partnerships, person-centred planning and advocacy; current legislative, ethical and policy directions in the context of education.

Teaching Method
The course will be taught through a combination of lectures and seminars. The teaching method will include:

- INTERNAL, MT GAMBIER: Lecture (Online) 1 hour x 12 sessions, Seminar 2 hours x 12 sessions
- INTERNAL, WHYALLA: Lecture (Online) 1 hour x 12 sessions, Seminar 2 hours x 12 sessions
- EXTERNAL, ONLINE SCHEDULED CLASS: Lecture (Online) 1 hour x 12 sessions, Seminar 2 hours x 12 sessions
