Course Aim

The Masters Research Project aims to develop the skills necessary to execute extensive research in a topic relevant to the chosen program of study.


Course Content

This course involves the planning and execution of a research topic relevant to a student's program, culminating in the completion of an 8000-word research thesis (or equivalent body of work).


Prerequisite(s)

  • Common to all relevant programs: ENGG 5020 Masters Research Theory and Practice
  • An equivalent Research Methods course will be considered as a prerequisite for students unable to complete Masters Research Theory and Practice prior to commencing the research project.

Teaching Method

  • Directed Study: The course is undertaken through ongoing meetings with the project supervisor and independent research work.
  • Seminar: 1 hour x 2 weeks
