The KPJ Excellence Program in General Medicine is designed to introduce students to the important and exciting field of general medicine in Vienna. A special role is played by primary care according to a new concept, which contributes to the enhancement of the profession of general medicine, particularly in an urban environment. The Excellence Program in General Medicine is a cooperation between the MA 24 of the City of Vienna, the Viennese social insurance providers, and the Medical University of Vienna.

The program aims to provide students with the most important and relevant knowledge in the field of general medicine. The primary care concept plays a crucial role in this program, as it contributes to the enhancement of the profession of general medicine. The program is designed to prepare students for their future roles as general medicine practitioners.
Lernziele
The training program is designed to optimally prepare general medicine practitioners for their role as mentors in the Excellence Program.
Methoden
The program uses various methods, including:
- Didactic background of e-voting and electronic feedback
- Presentation of the system and its possibilities, with active participation by course participants
- Hands-on training with support from the course leadership
- Presentation of further possibilities of the system
- Development of concrete solutions and areas of application

- Teachers in teaching hospitals
Seminarleitung
The seminar is led by:
- Assoc. Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Kathryn Hoffmann, MPH, Interim Head of the Department of General Medicine and Family Medicine, Center for Public Health
- Dr. Angelika Hofhansl, MME, Head of Medical Didactics, Teaching Center, Medical University of Vienna
Gruppengröße
The group size is limited to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 12 participants.
Stunden
The program consists of 2 hours of training.
Teilnahmegebühr
Participation is free of charge for:
- Employees of the Medical University of Vienna
- External teachers with a teaching assignment at the Medical University of Vienna
- Teachers from the teaching hospitals of the Medical University of Vienna
- Accredited training practices for general medicine at the Medical University of Vienna
Diplom-Fortbildungs-Programm (DFP)
The program has applied for accreditation as part of the Diplom-Fortbildungs-Programm (DFP) of the Austrian Medical Chamber (ÖÄK).
