Program Overview


Texas Tech Spirit Program

The Texas Tech Spirit Program is a comprehensive program that encompasses various spirit groups, including cheerleaders, pom squad, Masked Rider, and Raider Red. The program is designed to promote school spirit and provide opportunities for students to engage in spirit-related activities.


Spirit Groups

  • Cheerleaders: The cheerleading program includes Small CoEd Cheer, Large CoEd Cheer, and College Prep Cheer Clinic. The clinic is open to high school juniors and college-age individuals interested in cheering in college.
    • College Prep Cheer Clinics:
      • All-Girl Session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
      • CoEd Session: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
      • $85 per participant (attending one clinic session)
      • $145 per participant (attending both sessions - female flyers only)
  • Pom Squad (Dance Team): The pom squad is a dance team that performs at various university events. The squad has a recruitment process, and interested individuals can attend fall clinics.
  • Masked Rider: The Masked Rider is a iconic symbol of Texas Tech University. The program includes a current rider, appearance requests, and a history of former riders and horses.
  • Raider Red: Raider Red is a costumed mascot who represents the university at various events. The program includes a donation option and social media links.

Clinic Details

  • Clinic Attire:
    • Females: Wear fitted top or sports bra color of your age group and black spandex shorts. Hair needs to be fixed, curled, half-up with a white bow. Cheer appropriate shoes. Natural make-up (no glitter).
    • Males: Wear T-Shirt color of your age group with black athletic shorts. Athletic/Cheer appropriate shoes.
  • Clinic Notes:
    • Additional details will be emailed out to registered participants one week prior to clinic.
    • Clinic will be closed to participants only.
    • Clinic registration will close once we reach capacity for space.

Staff and Organization

  • The program is led by a director and includes various coaches, including a cheer and mascot coach, and a pom squad coach.
