Program Overview

Red Raider Orientation

The Red Raider Orientation (RRO) is a crucial step for new undergraduate students at Texas Tech University. All new students are required to complete a session, where they will meet other new students, get advice from current students, learn Texas Tech traditions, and have fun. Most importantly, students will meet with their academic advisor and register for courses.

RRO Guest Information

Guests are invited to attend RRO with their students. While it's not mandatory, it's highly encouraged that each student has at least one guest attend with them. Guests will have the opportunity to learn how to support their student, gain insight about campus services, and discover how to become involved.

Why Should Parents or Families Attend?

Attending the parent and family sessions during RRO will help guests learn how to support their student, gain insight about campus services, and discover how to become involved. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet faculty, administrators, staff, and current students.

How to Register as a Guest

To attend RRO with their student, the student should register their guest when they register for their RRO session. Guests can be updated or added up to two business days prior to the student's RRO session.

Guest RRO Fees

Guest fees are due upfront when guests are added to the student's registration. The fees are as follows:

  • Two-Day Sessions: $75 per guest (8+ years old), free (7 years old and under)
  • One-Day Sessions: $25 per guest (8+ years old), free (7 years old and under)
