Program Overview

The Sociology, B.A. / Sociology, M.A. is a competitive accelerated program designed for upper-division sociology majors. This program allows students to begin graduate classes during their senior undergraduate year, enabling them to finish with a master's degree in sociology with one additional year of graduate study instead of the normal two years.

Program Details

This program is particularly well-suited for students who wish to enter governmental, non-profit, or industry work. The program follows the same requirements as the Sociology, M.A.

Program Requirements

• The program requires students to follow the same requirements as the Sociology, M.A.
• Nine hours of graduate credit may be counted as undergraduate credit, at the discretion of the graduate director.

Program Structure

The accelerated program is designed to be completed in one year of graduate study after the completion of the undergraduate degree, instead of the normal two years. This is achieved by allowing students to take graduate classes during their senior undergraduate year.
