The Transfer Connection program is designed to support transfer students at Texas Tech University.

Program Overview

The program provides various resources and opportunities for transfer students to get involved and succeed on campus.

Roles and Responsibilities

Transfer Ambassadors play a crucial role in the program, participating in activities such as:

• Planning and implementing Transfer Connection meetup events
• Planning Transfer Welcome Week events
• Presenting on the Transfer Connection program and events
• Tabling at campus-wide resource fairs and Red Raider Orientation
• Offering support and answering questions via phone and email
• Working as a Mentor Tech Peer Mentor to provide growth opportunities to transfer students

Summer Opportunities

During the summer, Transfer Ambassadors give presentations and table at orientation sessions, offer summer peer mentorship, and contact incoming transfer students by phone and email.

Collaboration and Teamwork

As a Transfer Ambassador, students work in multiple areas, including:

• Mentor Tech as a Peer Mentor, providing one-on-one mentorship and growth opportunities
• Student Development & Engagement (SD&E), serving various areas of student services, such as:
  • First Gen Programs
  • College Readiness
  • University Coaching & Student Achievement
  • Student Engagement
  • Parent and Family Relations
  • Retention Management & Innovation

Mentor Tech

Mentor Tech provides opportunities for students to receive one-on-one mentorship and growth opportunities from faculty, staff, alumni, and peers. Transfer Ambassadors are matched with a student to provide personalized mentorship.
