Program Overview

Admissions Criteria
- A master's degree or higher in Kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field from an accredited institution with a strong graduate studies GPA.
- Clear evidence of independent research experience (e.g., thesis, research project, peer-reviewed publication).
- Curriculum vitae with evidence of academic achievements and relevant experiences.
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty mentors who can provide insights about the applicant's potential for success in a doctoral program. One letter must be from the student's major advisor during graduate studies.
- One scientific writing sample, such as Master's degree research paper or copy of a peer-reviewed publication.
- A one-page letter of intent describing academic preparation, interest in doctoral studies, professional goals, research skills, and teaching and work experiences. The letter should include a statement that confirms that the applicant has identified a faculty mentor in the department to supervise the applicant's doctoral studies.
