Bio-Mechatronic Engineering Program
The Bio-Mechatronic Engineering program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and technologies of biotechnology and bioengineering. The program aims to nurture talents who can utilize artificial intelligence (AI) in biotechnology and prepare students for startups in the bio-industry.
Course and Curriculum

- Biotechnology and Bioengineering Research 1-5: independent study courses for students who have finished an excellent accomplishment of the course requirements, designed to provide various conceptual backgrounds for research and current problems.
- Introduction to Biotechnology and Bioengineering: an introductory course that covers a broad range of interdisciplinary topics within modern biotechnology, including molecular biology, genetic engineering, and biomedical engineering.
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Bioengineers: a course that aims to nurture talents who can utilize AI in biotechnology, covering topics such as optimization techniques, artificial neural network systems, and evolutionary computational systems.
- Entrepreneurship Education in Biotechnology and Bioengineering: a course that promotes bio-ecosystem investment, attracts bio-companies, and starts bio-companies by analyzing how undergraduate students can prepare for startups in the bio-industry.
- Bio-health Capstone Design: a course that integrates multi-disciplinary knowledge and theory to bring about social and scientific issues or specific needs in the bio-healthcare industry field.
- Statics: a course that deals with the state of rest of bodies under the action of forces, covering basic concepts of mechanics, Newton's laws, and forces system.
- Dynamics: a course that deals with the motion of bodies under the action of forces, covering kinematics, kinetics, and mass moment of inertia.
- Computer Programming: a course that covers the theories and applications of programming, aiming to develop talented professional software engineers.
- Computer Programming Practice: a course that develops advanced programming skills by team project.
- Computer Programming Basics: a course that discusses numerical methods using computer programming to solve various engineering problems.
- Embedded System Design: a course that teaches theories and techniques for configuring microprocessor-based hardware and programming the software that operates it.
