DVM Program Requirements
The DVM program at Oklahoma State University has specific requirements that applicants must meet to be considered for admission.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the DVM program, applicants must:
- Be within two semesters of completing all pre-veterinary course requirements by June 1 following application
- Have a grade point average in the required courses of at least 2.8 before the start of the fall term in which they apply
- Maintain a cumulative/overall GPA of at least 3.0 before the start of the fall term in which they apply
- Complete prerequisite coursework from an accredited institution with a letter grade (e.g., A, B, C)
- Note that a grade below "C" in a required course is unacceptable and must be repeated, with a "C-" considered below a "C"
- If an applicant retakes a course, the hours and grade points of the repeated course will be averaged with those of the original course in calculating the required course GPA
- Complete all courses taken for the purpose of substitution by the end of the fall term in which application is made
- Complete math and science-based courses within eight years of the fall semester in which application is made
- Take upper-level science courses at a four-year institution to be valid, including Animal Nutrition, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Organic Chemistry I & II

- All transcripts must be sent to VMCAS by September 15
- The VMCAS Application is due by September 15
- The OSU CVM Application Processing Fee must be completed by September 15
- Fall transcripts are due to CVM by January 15
