History of SKKU Law

Exchange Student Programs
Undergraduate Program
- The program provides students with the opportunity to study at participating universities in three major areas:
- Introduction to the host country's legal and political system
- Comparative law and comparative politics
- Language education specialized in social sciences
- Students can earn credits by completing courses in these areas, with each course providing credits according to the host university's standards.
- Additionally, students can take international language courses offered by the host university.
Graduate Program
- The graduate exchange student program offers courses in two main areas:
- East Asian Law Research 1 A/B: Comparative Law in East Asia
- East Asian Law Research 2 A/B: "Jus Commune" (Common Law) in East Asia
- All graduate students participating in the Campus Asia program must take at least one of these courses.
- Upon completion of their study abroad period, all students must submit their academic achievements related to East Asian law.
Student Support
- Tuition waiver and living expenses scholarship are provided based on the academic exchange agreement between participating universities.
- Each university's international student office offers various support services for foreign students.
- Buddy programs, such as HI-Club, MAPLE, and FRIENDS at SKKU, are also available to support international students.
- Each exchange student can receive language support and other necessary assistance from a personal tutor.
Internship Opportunities
- Most long-term and some short-term exchange students will have the opportunity to participate in English-language internships at government agencies, companies, and NGOs.
- Various institutions, including Toyota Motor Korea, SK Energy, Chunichi Shimbun Beijing Branch, KOTRA, and Aichi Bar Association, provide internship opportunities for exchange students.
Language Education and Cultural Experience
- Exchange students learn English and the host country's language (Korean, Chinese, or Japanese) before and after their study abroad period.
- The language education aims to enhance students' abilities in three areas:
- English for class discussions and lectures
- Basic knowledge of the host country's language for accessing local culture and information
- Ability to read and understand legal and political materials in the host country's language
- Field trips and cultural exchange programs are organized to provide students with opportunities to experience the local culture.
Campus Asia Program
The Campus Asia program is a consortium of three universities that aims to promote academic exchange and cooperation in the field of law and social sciences. The program includes:
- Introduction to the history and objectives of the Campus Asia program
- Information on participating universities and their programs
