Program Overview

The Special Social Worker Education is a 70-credit program designed for social workers looking to strengthen and deepen their skills in their field. The program can be completed in approximately two years while working.

Program Structure

The program is divided into several special areas of social work, including:

• Lapsi-, nuoriso- ja perhesosiaality— (Child, Youth, and Family Social Work), with the University of Turku as the responsible university
  • This area of specialization focuses on the social work related to children, youth, and families
• Kuntouttava sosiaality— (Rehabilitative Social Work), implemented in cooperation with the Universities of Turku and Tampere
  • This area of specialization focuses on rehabilitative social work
• Hyvinvointipalvelut (Wellbeing Services)
  • This area of specialization focuses on services related to wellbeing
• Rakenteellinen sosiaality— (Structural Social Work)
  • This area of specialization focuses on the structural aspects of social work
