Program Overview & Timeline

Students can start graduate-level business coursework as early as their junior or senior year, continuing eligible Rensselaer undergraduate funding for up to two semesters of graduate study. This accelerated path saves both time and tuition while equipping students with business depth for fast-growing industries.

Available M.S. Programs

  • Business Analytics
  • Quantitative Finance and Risk Analytics
  • Supply Chain Management

Typical Timeline

  • Years 1–3: Complete undergraduate degree requirements.
  • Year 4: Take up to two M.S. courses during senior year. These may be counted as free electives under RPI's credit-sharing policy.
  • Year 5: Finish remaining M.S. coursework in two graduate semesters, graduating with both degrees.

Career Outcomes

Adding a master's degree in a specialized business area helps students go beyond their undergraduate foundation—especially if their major is in STEM or a non-business field. Career benefits include:

  • Faster promotion pathways into business, consulting, or management roles
  • Data-driven decision-making skills across technical and strategic functions
  • Broader leadership readiness across operations, finance, and analytics
  • Higher salary potential compared to bachelor's-only roles
  • Increased adaptability in a changing job market

Admissions & Application

This program is ideal for RPI undergraduates who want to enhance their core degree with business specialization, especially in analytics, finance, or supply chain.

Eligibility Requirements

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • At least 90 credits completed, including AP, transfer, or in-progress coursework
  • Students are typically accepted into the co-terminal track in junior year and start graduate coursework as early as senior year

FAQs
