Education Content
The training is suitable for you if:
- you are interested in life at the cellular and molecular level
- you are interested in the internal and external communication mechanisms of the cell
- you want to understand the function of molecules and the interactions and regulation between them, as well as familiarize yourself with the methods used in the study of molecules
- you are interested in sustainable development solutions, for example in bioenergy or food production and food preparation
- you are a curious student interested in a research career
The education guarantees both strong theoretical knowledge and control of modern laboratory methods in the field of molecular biosciences. After graduation, you will be able to apply the expertise you have learned in research, product development, teaching and official positions both at home and abroad.
Specialization lines
The education has five specialization lines:
- Biochemistry
- Food chemistry
- Molecular biotechnology and diagnostics
- Molecular Plant Biology
- Cell Biology
Biochemistry Line
As a biochemistry graduate, you have solid knowledge on both a theoretical and practical level in the areas of enzyme and protein chemistry, molecular biology and molecular cell biology. You understand the structure and function of proteins and other biomolecules and are able to solve problems in microbiology, cell biology and biomedicine.
Food Chemistry Line
After completing your degree in Food Chemistry, in addition to strong theoretical knowledge, you will master the laboratory methods used to study the molecular structures of food and raw materials, chemical and biochemical reactions, nutritional and technological properties, and interactions between molecules.
Molecular Biotechnology and Diagnostics Line
After completing your degree in Molecular Biotechnology and Diagnostics, in addition to strong theoretical knowledge, you will master many of the most important technologies of modern molecular biotechnology and diagnostics. In addition, the training prepares you for how to apply the knowledge you have gathered in the development of new biotechnological tools and methods needed to identify molecules.
Molecular Plant Biology Line
After completing your degree in Molecular Plant Biology, in addition to strong theoretical knowledge, you will master the laboratory methods used to study the cellular and molecular life functions of plants and other photosynthetic organisms in changing environmental conditions, and you will be able to study them with biochemical, molecular biological and biophysical methods. You also know the principles related to the beneficial use of these organisms.
Cell Biology Line
After completing your degree in Cell Biology, you will have solid knowledge in the field of molecular cell biology, both at the theoretical and practical level. As a cell biology graduate, you understand the function of normal cells and the mechanisms of diseases at the cellular level.
Career opportunities
Graduates of molecular biosciences can work, for example:
- as a specialist researcher
- as a project researcher
- as quality manager
- as a graduate student
- as a medicine presenter
- as a research director
- as laboratory manager
- as a coordinator/planner
